One of my close friends came to visit me in Toronto.
Lani and I have been friends for over six years. We met at our old workplace, back when I was a university student. Near the end of most work days, I’d wander around the office chatting with everyone who looked available. Looking back…I was probably that annoying student. I know. 😂. But networking was helpful.
Anyways, one day I noticed a box of cookies on the side of her desk.
“Hey…can I have a cookie?”
She looked at me like, Who is this annoying student? But I stayed and kept talking anyway.
Behind that semi annoyed face, I could sense there was someone really warm underneath. I had this feeling we were meant to connect.
Over time, she cracked open and softened.
During the pandemic, we started doing grocery runs together…a thing that became our little bonding ritual. We realized we share the same birthday. On my phone her number is saved as “Pisces Twin Bitch.” I’m 94% sure she has me saved the same way.
Very mature of us…I must say…
As our friendship grew, we realized we had another thing in common. We both had stories we couldn’t quite logically explain…dreams of future events, gut feelings that turned out to be right, and intuitive moments to share. Very Pisces.
She was the first person who encouraged me to explore Reiki. And shared her own experience and that conversation planted a seed.
A few months later, I completed my Reiki certifications and began intuitively practicing with close friends and anyone who was open to receiving a session.
If you’re not familiar with Reiki, it’s an energy practice where the practitioner places their hands just above the body with the intention to instil deep relaxation and energetic healing. Everyone experiences it differently. Some people feel deeply relaxed, while some feel tingles, have vivid visions, or an emotional release. For me, it’s less about “solving” a problem and more about creating a space where people can genuinely reconnect with themselves.
On the last day of Lani’s visit, I offered her a session.
I set up my massage table in my meditation room, dimmed the lights, I said my usual silent prayer, asking that whatever was meant to come through would come through for her and any messages she needed.
Every session is different. I don’t try to control what happens. My role is simply to hold the space and maintain the energetic channel.
As I reached her heart chakra, I felt an overwhelming wave of love come over me. In that moment, I had a strong sense of her brother’s presence. The feeling wasn’t dramatic. It was strongly quiet…gentle. He was very proud of her.
The heart chakra is often where I experience the strongest intuitive hits during sessions.
When we finished, I quietly burned a little palo santo, stepped outside the room, and gave her a few moments to herself.
When she came out, she had tears in her eyes.
She shared that since her brother passed away two years ago, she hadn’t felt connected to him.
During the session, she experienced what felt to her like hearing from him again. She received messages that were deeply personal and meaningful to her.
Moments like these remind me why I continue doing this work.
Whether you see experiences like this as intuition, energy, spiritual, or simply a deeply healing moment, they remind me that love doesn’t disappear. We are far more connected than we realize, and sometimes we just need a quiet space to feel it.
Lani, I want to thank you for always encouraging me. And seeing how you actually go after your goals motivates me to do the same.
Love you, Pisces Twin Bitch. Thanks for visiting my world and letting me hold space for your big ass heart 🫶
P.S. Those boxed cookies you had weren’t exactly a hit… maybe stick to homemade next time 😉

Coming out of the reflective chapter of my journey, I have been reminded that that life moves in cycles. I feeling like I am constantly growing, shedding old versions of myself, learning, unlearning, and just being myself.
Every year, I feel myself unraveling more. I’ve learned to follow where my intuition guides me. My intuition is louder now than it has ever been. Every time I’ve listened to it, there has been something for me to lean into.
Sometimes it’s a small pull to walk down a certain street or talk to a certain person. Sometimes it’s a quiet voice telling me to go for something that doesn’t make logical sense. More often than not, something meaningful and positive comes from it. I get the answers I need somehow.
For my intuition to develop, I needed periods of solitude and time to sit with myself and learn who I was beneath the noise of expectations. And continue to nurture myself fully. And face my shadow parts…the fears, the wounds, the uncomfortable parts and the truths. At the same time, strengthen the lighter parts of myself too, which I love dearly.
Intuition is a mental muscle. The more I listen, the stronger it becomes. The easier I can tap into it. The more intentional I am, the more my inner world begins to shape my outer reality.
One thing I’ve realized, is that I can do whatever the fuck I want. Most people are focused on their own lives. There’s absolutely beautiful freedom in that. ❤️🤸🏼
Because of that mentality, I want to continue building a life that feels aligned with my inner voice. It feels like that voice is slowly revealing pieces of a much bigger picture…showing me not only who I am becoming, but who I have always been.
Recently, I gave an intuitive reading to someone who had a near-death experience, and the conversation stayed with me. It got me thinking about why we’re here in the first place. Lately, I’ve been reminded that life is about being human and learning as we go. Experiencing things, feeling deeply, loving, making mistakes, crashing out sometimes, and figuring things out along the way.
If there is a life review at the end of our journey, I don’t think we’ll be measuring our sole worth through societal level accomplishments, corporate titles, social media or how much money we made. I think we’ll revisit the moments that made us feel alive and living our purpose. The moments when we were fully joyful with people we love and being who we really are.
This is still unfolding. I’m still living out that path. But it feels important enough to keep openly exploring my intuition.
